How we work
How we work
Customer Service is at the heart of everything we do. Here is how we will take good care of you: –
Get in touch – Give us a call and talk through your new fitted kitchen project. We will answer all of your questions and happily arrange an appointment for you with Jacques, our kitchen designer.
Consultation – A home visit consultation to discuss your new dream kitchen can last a few enjoyable hours. Wait to be amazed! On arriving at your home Jacques will carry out a survey, talk through the way you use your kitchen, and ask you about your requirements and aspirations. He will then produce a design of your dream kitchen. The design is brought to life in the form of a coloured perspective drawing on Jacques’ laptop so you can review the design there and then. If there are any alterations that you would like to make or change the specification, Jacques can attend to these straight away. When you are happy with the design, Jacques can cost your new kitchen for you. We are confident that you will be really impressed by Jacques’ creative flare, his ability to listen to what you want and his patience and determination to make your new kitchen work for you.
All of this is undertaken in the comfort of your own home, usually in one sitting, so you do not have to wait for days or weeks to see your kitchen design and quotation.
Placing your order – When your kitchen design has been agreed and you have decided to go ahead, Jacques will provide a confirmation of your order which includes the specification, a detailed plan, and our terms and conditions. When you are entirely satisfied, we will simply ask you to sign the documentation and pay the deposit.
The written agreement between us provides a comprehensive list and specification of the items that make up your kitchen, and the work that is to be carried out leaving no room for doubt regarding what is included in the agreed price. It provides complete clarity and underpins our working relationship throughout the project.
Installation – Our kitchen installers are professional, meticulous and punctual. They are skilled craftsmen and very proud and passionate about their work. We understand that having a new kitchen fitted can cause some disruption to family life, and so it needs to be managed professionally. Although there will inevitably be some dust and noise, our installers work diligently to make the process as stress-free as possible. They will provide protection to floors and furniture as necessary, keep the job as clean and neat as possible as the work proceeds, and they will clean up when they have completed your new kitchen installation.
Health and Safety – You may be aware that recent changes to health and safety legislation mean that building work for a domestic client is now covered by the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015 (CDM Regulations). These regulations, which came into force on 6 April 2015, put a responsibility on domestic clients, having building work carried out, to appoint a “Principle Designer” and “Principal Contractor” and ensure that the proper arrangements are in place for managing and organising the work. For our kitchen installations The Suffolk Kitchen Company takes the role of both Principal Designer and Principal Contractor. Our terms and conditions make provision for our appointments and we then take responsibility and ensure that the health and safety obligations under the CDM Regulations are met. For example, we prepare the Construction Phase Health and Safety plan which identifies any risks and records what control measures have been put in place.
The requirements are not designed to be unduly onerous and they ensure that both the Customer and our Company are compliant and that each job is planned correctly and carried out using safe procedures in order to protect the welfare of the householders and their families, the people working on site and any members of the public that might be affected.
